|  | Last Saturday (26 January), a friend and I agreed to meet in Quiapo. Actually, it was just supposed to be a 'stop-over' en-route to our gimmick for the afternoon, a movie at Instituto de Cervantes.
But Quiapo has a charm of its own. It has so much life and history! Each street and alley has a story to tell. And so, even though we would've been more comfortable in Instituto, we eventually succumbed to an impromptu walking tour in one of the metro's most interesting places.
As you can see from the photos, we started mid-afternoon, when the sun was still reigning the sky. We ended the day with the moon over our head, ice cream sundae for dessert, and with our 'fortunes' told by grannies lining the plaza. |
